Great news: Free meals for all students through December!
The USDA recently announced an extension of a waiver allowing for the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) program to be extended through Dec. 31, 2020, or until funding allows. This waiver will allow the Pilot Grove Nutrition Department to provide completely FREE breakfast and lunch meals to all children up to age 18 residing within the district.
Beginning Thursday, Sept. 10, National School Lunch Program will transition to the SSO program and all breakfast and lunch meals served to students will be at no charge. This will continue through Dec. 31 (or as federal funding allows). The waiver does not affect the cost of meals served from Aug. 24 to Sept. 9, which were charged at the free, reduced, or full-price rate. Students will need money on their account to purchase seconds, a la carte items, etc as those programs are not included in the FREE meal program.
Virtual students or other children ages 1-18 within the District boundary are also eligible for grab and go meals by contacting Ashley Groepper at 660-834-6915 or agroepper@pilotgrove.k12.mo.us to sign up. Pick up times will be from 11:30-12:30 daily.
Families are still encouraged to complete the 2020-21 Free and Reduced Meal Application as this waiver is only granted through December 31, 2020 or until federal funding allows. In January 2021 student lunch status will return to their free, reduced or paid rate. Elementary Tigers of the Week for August 31- September 4!! These kiddos have been caught being great role models the first week of school!
Junior High Basketball Practice will start next Tuesday, Sept. 8th.
Boys Practice 3:30-5:30 pm, Girls Practice 5:30-7 pm. Athletes must have annual concussion/insurance paperwork as well as a physical on file. These can be found on our web page under Documents-Athletics
