Pilot Grove Earns 3rd place at Central Region Envirothon Competition.

Eleven students participated in the Regional Envirothon Competition on April 8th at Runge Nature Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. The Envirothon Competition encourages group collaboration and problem-solving skills as teams work together to answer questions related to various areas of Environmental Science and Natural Resource concerns. Along with this, teams prepared an oral presentation, taking on the role of a consulting company tasked with solving pollution problems in Lake St. Louis. Each team earned valuable insights into natural resource careers and current environmental issues while enjoying the beauty of Runge!

To top it off, “Team Purple”, including Ella Stegner, Romi Stegner, Katie Bealer, Matthew Fahrendorf,  and Michael Brown, earned 3rd place overall at the competition and will be moving on to the State. They competed well in a few categories, including 3rd place in Forestry and Oral Presentation, and 2nd place in Wildlife.

Notably, “Team Gold,” which included Lyle Christy, Luke Ellebracht, Weston Rentel, Henry Davenport, and Bradyn Fahrendorf earned 4th place in the Forestry category. A special thank you to Madilyn Talley for participating as our team alternate and helping her peers prepare for the event. Please congratulate these students on their hard work!
