Mr. Lorenz's Freshman Physical Science class took part in an "egg drop challenge" this week. The students got cracking, engineering and designing a safety device that could protect an egg from a 1-meter drop. Students had to apply the concepts of Newton's laws and understand the relationship between impulse and inertia. Afterwards, they analyzed each device's performance, identifying which safety features contributed to their success. This lesson also highlighted the importance of wearing seatbelts and the physics principles that help protect people in the event of a car crash.
