Why is attendance to school so important?

Research continues to show that students who attend school regularly are more likely to read on grade level by third grade, stay on track in middle school and graduate on time. Consistent attendance plays such an important role in academic growth and long-term success. Higher attendance rates are linked to higher MAP/EOC & ACT scores and increased college enrollment!

What's there to lose?

Missing just 2 days of school each month adds up to nearly 10% of the school year lost. Over time, 80% attendance = more than 2 full years of lost instruction by graduation!

Where is our attendance rate currently?

I’m proud to share that we are making great progress toward our Continuous School Improvement (CSIP) goal of achieving 95.5% overall student attendance. Our current district-wide attendance rate is 94.9%, which shows a strong commitment from our students and families to begin present and engaged in learning each day.

What can families do to help:

*Continue making school attendance a daily priority

*Scheduling appointments outside of school hours whenever possible

*Communicating with teachers if your child must miss school

Every day in class is a step toward success!
