FFA WLC

Pilot Grove FFA Members Sadie Streck, Harlei Kammerich and Katie Bealer have been working hard to raise funds to attend the Washington Leadership Conference hosted by National FFA in Washington DC. This past week it all paid off, these members traveled to DC for a week full of leadership development, networking, community service, and lots of historical touring!

These members were able to see and tour a variety of monuments, museums and national historic sites during their trip including:  Washington Monument, U.S. Capitol, U.S. Senate Building, Old Post Office Tower, Chinatown, National Archives Museum, White House, World War 1 & 2 Memorials, Lincoln Memorial, Korean & Vietnam War Memorials, Jefferson Memorial, Library of Congress, Holocaust Museum, Ford's Theatre, Arlington National Cemetery, Planet Word Museum, Air & Space Smithsonian, American History Smithsonian, The People's House, and the National Mall.

The students had a great time in the conference meeting FFA members from all over the nation, packing meals for those in need, and learning what it means to be a changemaker in their community. The theme of the conference was "To do what We Can, with what We Have, Where We Are". Our members are doing just that and are excited to share their experiences and knowledge gained with other members. This was an unforgettable trip for our students and we are so excited to be able to offer opportunities like this for our FFA members.
